Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students who have a range of disabilities
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Familiarity with creating and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to meet individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ unique learning requirements
- Implement IEPs, track progress, and participate in meetings with parents and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct instruction in small group and individual settings
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to foster a positive, accommodating atmosphere
- Document student growth and maintain organized records
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom culture that supports every learner
