Tool Maker / CNC Programmer Location: Bethel, CT Job Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year Overview Our client in Bethel, CT is seeking an experienced Tool Maker / CNC Programmer to join their manufacturing team. This is a hands‑on role responsible for CNC programming, tooling design, fixture fabrication, machine setup, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong Mastercam and SolidWorks experience, extensive CNC machining knowledge, and the ability to support both production and tooling operations. Responsibilities Create 3‑axis and 4‑axis CNC machine programs using Mastercam. Develop work instructions for new manufacturing operations. Design, fabricate, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, and fixtures. Set up and operate HAAS and Fryer Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs). Oversee daily CNC machining operations and production performance. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Apply GD&T principles to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tooling and manufacturing processes. Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues. Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Proven experience as a Tool Maker, CNC Programmer, Machinist, or related manufacturing professional. Strong proficiency with Mastercam and SolidWorks. Experience programming and setting up CNC mills and machining centers. Experience machining stainless steel is required. Knowledge of stamping press operations. Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading. Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments. Excellent math and problem‑solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical training preferred. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
