Description:

The Mechanical Assembler II independently performs a wide range of assembly functions and demonstrates advanced knowledge of mechanical assembly processes, quality standards, and blueprint interpretation. This position serves as a technical resource for entry level assemblers and helps drive productivity and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

· Demonstrate a thorough understanding of product quality requirements, utilizing product checklists to verify compliance and promptly reporting quality concerns.

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, models, and work instructions to accurately complete assembly tasks.

· Properly operate torque wrenches and demonstrate knowledge of torque specifications, torque verification processes, and the application of torque markings.

· Verify component and part dimensions using appropriate measuring tools and determine whether fabricated parts meet drawing specifications and quality standards.

· Inspect and validate the work of Mechanical Assembler entry level employees to ensure compliance with company quality, workmanship, and safety standards.

· Consistently complete assigned work center tasks within established production timelines and labor expectations.

· Identify production, quality, material, or assembly-related issues and escalate concerns to supervisors or team leads in a timely manner.

· Perform root cause analysis to identify, resolve, and prevent recurring issues within the assigned work center.

· Train, support, and mentor Mechanical Assembler entry level employees on work center processes, assembly techniques, quality requirements, and safe work practices.

· Serve as a technical resource within the work center by assisting team members with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and process improvement initiatives.

· Demonstrate independent work capabilities while maintaining productivity, quality, and adherence to established manufacturing procedures.

· Operate power/hand tools, measuring devices, and instruments used for assembly.

· Consistently wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, safety footwear, and other designated safety equipment.

· Support and maintain 5S workplace organization standards and housekeeping requirements within the assigned work center.

· Understand and follow quality standards and workmanship requirements for assigned tasks and responsibilities.

· Education: High School Diploma/GED required

· Experience: One year of continuous experience in a manufacturing environment required

· Reading Ability: Must be able to read and understand English

Skills:

· Basic computer skills.

· Ability to read tape measures and perform basic measurements in standard and metric units.

· Accurately interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, and written assembly instructions.

· Perform mechanical equipment troubleshooting according to inspection procedures.

· Maintain high-quality output and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Exhibit strong attention to detail.

· Provide flexible support across all production areas as needed.

Physical Demands:

This position differs from a typical assembly line role. Employees do not remain in one location throughout the shift. The assembly process requires working inside, around, and on top of large enclosures, including the use of scissor lifts and performing work at heights of 16-18 feet. Applicants should be comfortable working in elevated positions and in a physically active manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., bend, use hands, and fingers for 8 + hours. (Overtime may be required)
