About the Role
The Senior Manager, Tax Planning, Transfer Pricing & International Tax is a key leadership position responsible for developing and executing the Company's global tax strategy, transfer pricing framework, and tax compliance for jurisdictions outside the United States (“OUS”). This highly visible position will serve as a strategic business partner to Finance, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Operations, and commercial leaders, providing practical tax guidance on business initiatives, operating-model changes, intercompany arrangements, geographic expansion, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions. The position will lead transfer pricing strategy and OUS compliance; evaluate the tax implications of business initiatives; support legal entity and supply chain changes; and identify tax-efficient structures that align with business objectives while managing risk. The Senior Manager will also monitor global legislative developments and emerging tax regulations, including Pillar Two and other international tax reforms. In addition, the Senior Manager will partner with the Tax Accounting lead to model the effective tax rate, cash tax, and risk objectives and will oversee non-U.S. direct tax matters in partnership with local finance teams and external advisors. The position will translate evolving business facts and tax law into clear recommendations, governance, controls, and timely inputs for tax accounting, compliance, forecasting, and executive decision-making. This position will lead internal team members and external service providers, develop talent, establish scalable processes, and promote collaboration across the global tax function. This position will report to the Head of Tax.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Planning Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of MiniMed’s products, legal entities, value chain, intellectual property, manufacturing footprint, intercompany flows, distribution model, and key business initiatives. Lead global tax planning by identifying, modeling, recommending, and implementing practical strategies that support business growth, effective tax rate, cash tax, and risk-management objectives. Advise business and functional leaders on the tax implications of operating-model changes, supply-chain initiatives, manufacturing and sourcing decisions, market entry, legal-entity changes, financing, intellectual property, acquisitions, divestitures, and integrations.
Transfer Pricing Oversee MiniMed’s global transfer pricing framework, including policies, functional analyses, economic studies, intercompany agreements, pricing methodologies, governance, documentation, and audit defense. Partner with Finance and local controllers to establish, monitor, and adjust intercompany prices for products, services, royalties, financing, and other related-party transactions so results remain aligned with business facts, contractual terms, and the arm’s-length principle. Oversee quarterly transfer pricing forecasting and monitoring, explain jurisdictional or entity-level results, coordinate prospective or true-up adjustments, and communicate impacts to Tax Accounting, FP&A, Controllership, and senior leadership.
OUS Compliance Oversee OUS direct tax matters, including tax planning, local-country risk assessments, technical consultations, tax authority inquiries, controversy support, withholding-tax considerations, and coordination of return and payment requirements with internal owners and external advisors. Oversee OUS indirect tax matters, including VAT/GST, sales and use taxes, customs and duties, indirect tax registrations and filings, audit and controversy support, process and control governance, and coordination with local finance teams and external advisors to assess business changes and manage compliance and risk. Monitor and assess OUS legislative, regulatory, treaty, OECD, and global minimum-tax developments; quantify impacts and ensure timely communication to Tax Accounting, Finance, and business stakeholders. Provide input to the quarterly and annual income tax provision, OUS tax rates, enacted-law changes, uncertain tax positions, cash-tax items, Pillar Two considerations, and discrete transactions. Support tax audits and controversies by developing technical positions, coordinating responses, maintaining examination-ready documentation, managing advisors, and recommending resolution strategies. Manage external advisors, project scope, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and technical quality; identify opportunities to improve processes, data, systems, analytics, and internal ownership. Develop team capability through coaching, delegation, feedback, knowledge sharing, and documented procedures while fostering an accountable, inclusive, and collaborative culture.

Experience leading OUS tax matters across multiple jurisdictions and coordinating with local finance teams and external advisors. Experience in a multinational corporate tax department, public accounting firm, or law firm; medical technology, manufacturing, or regulated-industry experience is preferred. Experience managing large global special projects or teams is preferred. Nice to Have Technical depth: Strong knowledge of U.S. and international income tax principles, transfer pricing regulations and OECD guidance, tax treaties, withholding taxes, and global tax developments.
