Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Washington, District of Columbia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) located at the organizations emergency department, this role involves delivering high-quality, critical care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment. The ER RN will be responsible for managing complex nursing needs, including medication titrations, arterial lines, blood transfusions, and chest tubes, while collaborating effectively within the trauma team. Job Details Location: The position requires candidates to reside at least 50 miles away from the facility. Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district; ER experience of at least 3 years; graduation from an accredited or NLN-approved RN program; BSN preferred; Cerner experience required; certifications in NIHSS, TNCC, BLS, PALS, and ACLS; must be willing/able to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN and accept 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios. Additional Information: The ER is a fast-paced environment that treats a wide variety of patients, including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma cases. Responsibilities include managing critical care procedures and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
