Job Description Speech-Language Pathologist II or III. The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) is seeking a licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services in speech and language development. Services are delivered in the child’s natural environment (home, childcare, or other appropriate settings) and include screenings, evaluations, intervention, and parent education. Compensation: Level II up to $71,400.00 annually; Level III up to $77,000.00 annually, based on education and experience. Location: 3017 N. Stiles Ave, OKC, OK. Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM. Full‑time. Position Responsibilities Provides early intervention services in the child and family’s natural environment (home, childcare, park, etc.). Participates in family interviews. Conducts intakes, including client interviews, and performs assessments to make appropriate recommendations. Evaluates and treats children with suspected developmental communication delays to determine need for services. Collaborates with families and caregivers to identify goals, develop strategies, and create effective family intervention plans. Coaches caregivers to implement strategies that increase communication. Provides services to families in their native language through collaboration with interpreters when necessary. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team to monitor the effectiveness of child health and development services. Performs hearing screenings and makes appropriate referrals. Conducts group and individual speech and language treatment as appropriate. Prepares and maintains progress reports, evaluations, and records as needed. Participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team in completing assessments and developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs). Consults with community agencies, childcare, and school systems on behalf of families and may provide special programs as requested. Maintains confidential records of services, including progress notes and evaluation reports in compliance with state and federal regulations. Being present in the office is an essential function of this job. Other duties as assigned. Other Duties Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. Works effectively in a team environment, participating and assisting peers. Minimum Qualifications Required to perform all job‑related travel normally associated with this position and possess a valid driver’s license. Level II Career level where incumbents perform professional duties as a fully certified Speech‑Language Pathologist. Incumbents are not assigned supervisory responsibilities but may provide training and technical assistance to others. Requirements: Master’s degree in speech pathology, completion of academic and practicum requirements for certification by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association, and licensure by the State of Oklahoma. Level III Specialist level where incumbents have advanced technical duties in Speech‑Language Pathology and serve as consultants to other Speech‑Language Pathologists. Requirements: Master’s degree in speech pathology, completion of academic and practicum requirements for certification by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association, licensure by the State of Oklahoma, and an additional three years of post‑certification experience in a clinical specialty or educational setting, plus completion of the ASHA Supervisory Certification. Valued Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Knowledge of the pathology of communication disorders; phonetics; anatomy and physiology of the speech and hearing function; diagnostic testing and treatment techniques for communication disorders. Ability to discuss communication disorders with various treatment professionals and families; plan and execute treatment programs; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Physical Demands And Work Environment Work is typically performed in the child’s natural environment (home or childcare setting) or in an office environment with climate control and moderate noise levels. Communication, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and lifting up to 35 pounds may be required. Telework and remote service provision may also be required. Travel requirements: Must be willing to perform all job‑related travel, including occasional in‑state overnight and weekend travel.
