Details Surgical Stepdown unit with 29 beds Day shift, 07:00-19:30 Patient ratios of 1:3/4 EPIC EMR used Weekend shifts required every other weekend as needed by facility No call requirements Float to other departments of equal or lower acuity as needed Patient population includes post-op surgical patients (high and lower acuity), trauma, and high acuity medical patients requiring cardiac drips and BiPAP Requirements Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri (MO or compact license) Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA only Minimum 2 years of stepdown experience required Stepdown or ICU experience with post-op care, BiPAP, and cardiac gtt management Strong time management and critical thinking skills No expiring certifications within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided Valid U.S. Social Security Number required Additional Information Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups Coordinate patient care with other departments and maintain professional accountability for care provided Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted Black scrubs required, meeting Mercy dress code standards RTO of 5 days or less allowed, must be made up during the assignment Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for those within 50 miles of the facility Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the radius No employment gaps of 90 days within the past 12 months Positive attitude, problem-solving ability, and teamwork are valued traits for this role American Traveler Job ID P-750057.
