The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day AP and AR activities, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, and support month-end close. This position will also assist with project-based work and process improvements. They should have strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and analytical and organizational skills to support the accounting team in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Own accounts payable, including invoice review, account coding, approval coordination, payment preparation, and vendor statement reconciliations.
• Own accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, cash application, collections, and aging review.
• Investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies, customer deductions, short payments, and unapplied cash.
• Manage corporate credit card expenses and employee travel and expense reports, including reviewing receipts, verifying account coding and compliance with company policy, coordinating approvals, reconciling card statements, and processing employee reimbursements.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for month-end close.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items.
• Maintain prepaid expense, accrual, fixed asset, and depreciation schedules.
• Support inventory reconciliations, physical inventory counts, and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Review transactions for appropriate account classification and accounting period.
• Assist with financial reporting, audit requests, and accounting process improvements.
• Complete assignments accurately and on time, communicating issues before deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience preferred, including hands on AP and AR experience.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, xlookup, and sumifs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and follow issues through resolution.
• Manufacturing accounting or Syspro experience is a plus.
