CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

Setting up and operating lathes, cutters, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, and CNC machines
Aligning and positioning tools, gears, cams, and templates to meet exact specifications
Performing test cycles to verify timing, clearance, and tolerances
Troubleshooting and resolving machine setup issues
Making program edits and adjustments directly on CNC machines
Reading blueprints and layouts to plan work sequences and tooling
Training and mentoring team members as needed
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives like kaizen and cycle time reduction.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, technical certificate from a vocational school a plus
3-5 years of experience in CNC machine setup (preferred) & manual machining
Understanding of machine changeovers and adjustments
Familiar with CNC programming & CAD/CAM software
Familiarity with coolant and cutting oils
Proficiency in technical drawings & executing based on the drawing
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Windows)
Experience with CNC machines; knowledge of Fanuc G & M codes is a plus
Excellent communication skills, good teamwork & ability to work independently
