Accounting Manager - Onsite

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Accounting Manager for a 3+ month contract opportunity with a Global Manufacturing Company located in Buffalo Grove, IL. This position is fully onsite. Compensation: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications Position Overview: The Accounting Manager reports to the Company Controller and is responsible for managing the general accounting function. This role oversees the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements, supervises A/R and A/P, and evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes to ensure that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for General Accounting function and the supervision and mentoring of A/R, Billing and A/P Responsible for maintaining accounting sub-ledgers and preparing monthly account reconciliations Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable/payable, revenue recognition/distribution, and fixed asset and depreciation, records Work with both divisional and corporate accounting department personnel to ensure accounting transactions, JVs, and records are prepared timely and accurately in accordance with GAAP Supervise and participate in the month-end close process and preparation of various financial reports, financial statements, and corporate reporting packages Prepare account reconciliations and research discrepancies Perform analytical reviews of financial reports and KPIs to identify trends and develop appropriate responses as required Participate in the preparation of the annual financial and strategic plan, and in monthly P&L and working capital forecasts Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, procedures and work instructions relating to financial management, accounting, payroll and budgeting within a manufacturing environment Ensure accounting procedures are documented and up to date Consult on the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting process flow Implement process and automation improvements to reduce reconciliation efforts Establish system controls and adhere to SOX requirements, including compliance testing of key control areas Support internal and external audits involving review of accounting records and internal controls, including SOX Coordinate preparation of external audit schedules and internal financial reporting Provide support to internal customers as needs arise, including ad-hoc financial analysis, and special projects Primary Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent with four to ten years related experience in a highly diverse manufacturing environment Thorough understanding of GAAP and standard cost systems Minimum of four years supervisory role in a lean accounting department, preferable of A/R and A/P functions Experience with fully integrated ERP systems - Oracle R12 (or similar software), including Essbase and Hyperion Financial Management reporting systems Strong Microsoft Office computer skills – Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, VLOOKUP, Macros, etc), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to prepare well-constructed spreadsheets demonstrating a high degree of financial acumen and visual appeal Experience in a lean manufacturing environment; participation on kaizens and value stream mapping exercises Experience with Lean Accounting methodologies A sense of urgency with the ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines Strong analytical, accounting research and problem solving skills required Highly detail oriented and organized Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and interface with all levels of management Desired Skills: CPA, MBA preferred Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully Project Management - Coordinates projects; Completes projects on time and budget Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions Initiative - Seeks increased responsibilities; Takes independent actions and calculated risks Innovation - Displays original thinking and creativity; Meets challenges with resourcefulness Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
