APP (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant)- Gynecology Oncology (East Bay)- FT (8 Hour) Days

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Gynecologic Oncology Program. This role will work closely with two Gynecologic Oncology surgeons to provide comprehensive, longitudinal care for women throughout their cancer journey, including surgical management, postoperative recovery, cancer treatment, symptom management, and survivorship. The position will split time between the Stanford Medicine Sutter Health Cancer Center in Oakland and the Stanford Cancer Center in Pleasanton, playing an important role in the growth and development of gynecologic oncology care in the East Bay. What you will do Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic complaints related to gynecologic oncology, including health maintenance concerns. Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical examinations of new and returning patients. Order and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory tests, imaging, and therapeutic procedures as indicated. Administer medications according to formulary protocols or on physician authorization; oversee controlled substances management. Obtain informed consent and coordinate hospital admissions, discharges, and necessary paperwork. Assist the supervising physician in the operating room as first or second assistant, performing procedures under supervision. Recognize situations requiring immediate physician attention and initiate life‑saving interventions as needed. Facilitate coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and collaborate with community resources to ensure comprehensive patient support. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Provide patient teaching and counseling and coordinate multidisciplinary team communication. Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (if hired prior to July12012 the educational requirement may not apply). State licensure as a Physician Assistant and BLS certification. DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
