Starting Salary: $1,886.24 Bi-weekly ($49,042.24 annually)
The Information Technology (IT) Bureau in the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking an experienced individual to assist IT project management office (PMO) in:
- Coordinating and leading project delivery in accordance with project management processes based on Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards and the policies and procedures of DJJ
- Facilitating and performing data analysis and work processes to establish business and user requirements
- Preparing documentation and participants for user acceptance testing (UAT) of developed software solutions including the Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) system
- Leading the identification of key components of test execution including test management
- Coordinating and maintaining procedures related to information technology projects and software application development
Responsibilities, duties, and activities may include but not limited to the following:
- Assists in the planning, coordination, and guidance for all phases of project management with project teams
- Provides the necessary coordination, guidance and documentation for monitoring and controlling projects risks, scope, and requirements on assigned Information Technology projects
- Elicits and documents user requirements as needed for Juvenile Justice technology projects including Florida PALM
- Performs data analysis on existing data and presents options available regarding a solution
- Works with other Information Technology personnel and agency program representatives to ensure that products meet expectations
- Acts as point of contact for customers and technical staff on assigned projects
- Facilitates and performs data analysis and work processes to establish business and user requirements; and prepares documentation and subject matter experts for user acceptance testing (UAT) of developed technology solutions including the Florida PALM project
- Produces agendas and minutes for meetings when applicable
- Facilitates meetings with agency representatives to ensure the objectives of the meeting is obtained
- Ensures timely and accurate verbal and written communication with team members, Information Technology Project Manager and agency representatives at all levels as needed
- Responsible for oversight and assistance in the development of test plans related to User Acceptance Testing
- Responsible for oversight and assistance in internal testing for Juvenile Justice Information System and administrative systems
- Works closely with Finance & Accounting, Budget, and other business groups to create user stories, test cases, and test scripts (procedures) for performing UAT, including Florida PALM
- Participates in UAT as necessary
- Perform other project functions as may be assigned
Knowledge of project management principles and practices. Knowledge of techniques of computer systems analysis and design. Knowledge of structured analysis techniques. Ability to manage stakeholder's expectations. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities relating to the improvement of project management practices. Ability to identify and define user task needs and/or conduct short- and long-range project planning studies. Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials. Ability to conduct fact finding research, to work independently, to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, and to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others. Ability to interpret and communicate business and technical information effectively to project team stakeholders in order to facilitate a productive team environment.
Bachelor's degree or higher in information systems or related field. Working knowledge of project management and business analysis. Experience in using Microsoft Project or similar tools. Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
