Job Summary And Qualifications The Lactation Consultant utilizes evidenced based knowledge to promote breastfeeding and to support breastfeeding families. The Lactation Consultant serves the following age groups on a regular basis: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, and Adults. What you will do in this role: Communicate verbally in a face-to-face situation Communicate in written form Communicate and convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly Inspect machinery, office equipment, and/or medical equipment Trouble-shoot medical equipment Solve problems requiring interpretation Utilize reasoning and problem-solving skills Temperature Changes: variations in temperature from hot to cold Wet: frequent contact with water or other liquid Noise: sufficient noise to cause distraction Hazards: conditions where there is danger to life, body and/or health Atmospheric Conditions: conditions that affect the skin or respiratory system.
