Position Title: Dedicated Director of Maintenance (DOM) Aircraft: Gulfstream G600 Location: San Jose, CA (KSJC) Type: Full-time only; no contract Operation: 91 Compensation/Benefits: $305,990 - 373,988; fully paid medical/healthcare premium. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all activities related to maintenance programs, inspections, analytics, projections, coordination, and project management for the assigned aircraft. Adhere to and promote the Clay Lacy Vision, Mission, and Values daily. Collaborate with aircraft crew members to support missions and owner expectations; be present for aircraft arrivals and departures at the home base and surrounding airports within reason. Maintain and adjust daily workflow for proper decision-making on maintenance-related resources for the assigned aircraft. Complete light and moderate work on aircraft, including pre/postflight inspections after each trip. Coordinate moderate and heavy maintenance in efficient intervals to optimize dispatchability, considering owner schedule and coordination with the crew and aircraft management team. Foster an environment where comments, concerns, and suggestions are shared with the aircraft management team. Establish and maintain records as required by FARs, manufacturer, and Clay Lacy policies in accordance with Part 91 or Part 135 standards. Ensure high levels of customer service for Clay Lacy and its customers. Improve vendor/supplier relationships, contracts, and support services; anticipate client and crew needs to continually improve support and service. Represent Clay Lacy in aviation matters through relevant trade associations, FAA, aviation authorities, airport management, community organizations, and contract agencies. Maintain morale through awareness of department policies, employee development programs, and regular department meetings; promote best practices in communication of ideas, goals, and objectives. Act as resident expert on safety matters; liaise with safety organizations on industry safety concerns. Identify and report safety hazards using CLA’s SMS program to mitigate risk. Be onsite at a minimum of four days a week to provide preventive maintenance outside scheduled maintenance. Provide a 24-month maintenance projection, updated monthly, including downtime and estimated man-hours and costs; coordinate accordingly. Review vendor invoices and close out work orders in a timely manner. Provide weekly maintenance schedule updates to Clay Lacy leadership and/or the aircraft management team; update monthly maintenance projections and communicate with the aircraft management team. Input and update all aircraft discrepancies in Corridor tracking; update FL3XX with maintenance events for aircraft schedule visibility. Utilize HubSpot for AOG events or discrepancies that could cause trip interruptions. Coordinate quarterly with the Clay Lacy Director of Maintenance or Assistant Director of Maintenance to audit assigned aircraft and records. Report all aborted flights and diversions to the Director of Maintenance or Assistant Director; prepare MIR and/or SDR for all aborted or diverted flights. Upon work completion, send the work package, Logbook Entry, and 102 Airworthiness Release form for review; ensure RII items are identified before sending packages to the maintenance provider. Review Aircraft CB/SB and ADs quarterly; identify CB/SB changes to improve dispatch reliability. Produce a 12-month maintenance budget for each assigned aircraft; submission to the Director of Maintenance or Assistant Director before the end of October annually. Verify that all third-party maintenance providers used are approved Clay Lacy vendors prior to work. Scan and send all completed work packages to Clay Lacy Records after audit by the DDOM. Manage parts ordering, service requests, and P.O. requests through Corridor. Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience as an FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technician, including experience maintaining the assigned aircraft model(s). Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing employees, contractors, or maintenance teams. Willingness and ability to travel to support maintenance events outside the home base; ability to work extended and irregular hours as operational needs require. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current, valid FAA A&P Certificate required. Corporate aviation maintenance experience required. Gulfstream maintenance experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable FARs, Company Operations Manual, OpSpecs, SOPs, and company policies. Must pass DOT/FAA drug screening, background checks, and random testing as required.
