Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring an Echo/Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years experience to perform echocardiograms and TEEs in a fast-paced acute care cardiac department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• RDCS-AE (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Adult Echocardiography) via ARDMS required
• Additional AE or PE certification considered a plus
• Pediatric echo experience considered a plus
• Must be able to perform standard echocardiograms and TEEs
• Acute care hospital experience required
• License required if applicable
• Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within the Echocardiography/Cardiac Sonographer unit
• 2 scanning rooms plus 1 holding area allowing scanning in 3 spaces
• Performs standard echocardiograms and TEEs, with pediatric echo experience considered a plus
• Average caseload of 15-20 studies per day
• No floating required outside of echo and TEE studies
• Uses EPIC EMR and PACS imaging system
• Philips ultrasound equipment
• Day shift schedule approximately 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with some flexibility based on first scheduled study
• Coverage required every 3rd Saturday
• Call required every 3rd day
• Works alongside cath lab RN for IV starts and teams up with sonographer for stress echo studies when needed
• No dedicated radiology supervisor or lead tech; department overseen by the Cath Lab Manager
• Scrubs provided
• Candidates must disclose any background check hits at time of consideration
• Local candidates not accepted; radius rule of 50 miles applies to this facility
• Returning WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine system for longer than 1 year cumulative before requiring a 2-year break
