THE OPPORTUNITY
Several fast-growing AI and fintech companies are building Forward Deployed Engineering teams to turn complex customer problems into deployed, production-grade solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Embed with enterprise customers to understand workflows, technical constraints and measurable business outcomes.
- Prototype, build and deploy tailored solutions using the core product platform, APIs and customer data.
- Own pilots and production rollouts end-to-end, including scoping, architecture, implementation and adoption.
- Translate field learning into reusable product capabilities and clear feedback for engineering and product teams.
- Communicate credibly with engineers, operators and senior customer stakeholders.
- Travel to customer sites when necessary to unblock deployment and accelerate value delivery.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong hands-on software engineering ability, ideally in Python, TypeScript or another production language.
- Experience delivering technical solutions directly with customers or internal business stakeholders.
- Excellent problem decomposition, product judgment and comfort with ambiguous environments.
- Ability to build prototypes quickly and convert successful prototypes into maintainable systems.
- High ownership, concise communication and willingness to be accountable for customer outcomes.
- Availability to work in San Francisco and travel periodically.
PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- Prior FDE, solutions engineering, consulting engineering or technical implementation experience.
- Experience with AI agents, LLM orchestration, data pipelines or regulated industries.
- Founder, early-stage employee or substantial 01 project experience.
