Database AdministratorWe are looking for a Database Administrator based in Poland to work on a long-term project for one of our clients, one of the 100 fastest-growing tech companies in North America.Our client transforms how audit, risk, and compliance professionals manage today's dynamic risk landscape with a modern, connected platform that engages the front lines, surfaces the risks that matter, and drives better strategic decision-making.ResponsibilitiesSupport the administration, maintenance, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS RDS and Azure PostgreSQL.Monitor database health, performance, replication, storage utilization, and overall availability to ensure reliability and stability.Assist with database provisioning, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery processes, and disaster recovery planning and execution.Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including slow-running queries, blocking, deadlocks, replication lag, and connectivity problems.Collaborate with application teams to optimize SQL performance and improve database efficiency.Manage database security by administering users, roles, permissions, and access controls following best practices.Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash or Python to streamline routine DBA tasks and operational processes.Utilize monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and Prometheus to proactively identify and address potential issues.Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.RequirementsAdvanced level of English.3+ years of hands-on experience administering PostgreSQL databases in production environments.Experience supporting PostgreSQL deployments in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, including backup and recovery, replication, high availability, and performance tuning concepts.Experience working with applications deployed on Kubernetes-based infrastructure.Strong SQL troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Familiarity with database monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.Bonus PointsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related fieldsHands-on experience with PgBouncer or other connection pooling solutions.Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.Knowledge of logical replication, Change Data Capture (CDC) tools, and high-availability architectures.Professional certifications in PostgreSQL, AWS, or Azure.What We OfferLong term positionsCompensation in USDPaid time offCool clients and productsWork with great engineers
