Duties include disseminating information to departmental employees as assigned by the Department Chair(s); assisting Department Chair(s) in performing tasks; and providing general clerical support.**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Submits departmental meeting agendas and summaries to Department Chair(s).* Orders supplies and equipment for the Department Chairs as requested; initiates requisitions.* Assists the Department Chairs in preparing new and returning Adjunct Instructors with syllabi, textbooks, software, and systems as requested.* Assists the Department Chairs in the coordination and ordering of textbooks.* Assists the Department Chairs in the coordination of Advisory Committees.* Files, copies, types, and completes data entry for Department Chairs as requested.* Answers telephones.* Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:*** Associate degree; two (2) years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.* Office Administrations Certificate from Indian River State College desired.* Knowledge of basic office functions and equipment.* Knowledge of telephone etiquette.* Skill in organizing, typing, word processing, data entry, filing, scheduling, and managing time.* Skill in delivering customer service.* Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications.* Ability to be accurate and detailed oriented, flexible, use good judgement, multi-task, be people oriented, handle varying deadlines, be self-motivated, interact with the public, and work independently as well as with others.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
