RN - ICU


Job Details:


• Work 12-hour shifts available on day shift (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• 1 holiday per contract expected
• Schedule made in 6-week increments
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 with team nursing support when census exceeds 2 patients
• Care for a variety of patient types including general/medical, cardiac, trauma, surgical, and neuro diagnoses
• No cardiovascular surgeries performed
• Required skills include vent/trach management, tube/drain management, chest tubes, invasive line management (art line, CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, surgical recovery, and medication titration (sedation, pressors, cardiac, pain, paralytics)
• Preferred skills include abdominal pressure monitoring, EVDs, CVVH, and IABP
• EPIC EMR experience required
• IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis
• May float anywhere in the hospital within scope of practice; travelers float first
• When floating to MedSurg/Tele units or ED Boarding with MS patients, ratio will be 1:4
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• TNCC preferred
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, or designs

Facility:


This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 91 beds total and a 14-bed ICU. The unit is supported by a charge RN who typically takes a patient assignment, 1-2 CNAs per shift, bedside and centralized telemonitoring, a HUC on day shift, a break buddy system, and respiratory therapy available 24/7. Hospitalists and intensivists are available around the clock, with occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy available during the day.
