We focus on high-stakes federal criminal litigation with an emphasis on healthcare fraud defense, including Medicare and Medicaid fraud, False Claims Act investigations, and related criminal matters.Ideal candidates Former DOJ, AUSA, OIG, or federal prosecutorsSeasoned trial attorneys with 6+ years of federal litigation experienceSemi-retired attorneys or solo practitioners seeking consistent, high-level caseworkProfessionals with deep knowledge of federal rules, Florida federal court litigation, and experience defending white-collar crime and government contract fraud casesWe are not looking for general criminal defense attorneys without significant healthcare fraud defense or False Claims Act experience. If you've defended cases involving the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law violations, civil investigative demands (CIDs), or complex qui tam whistleblower actions, we want to speak with you.Position Details Title: Of Counsel – Federal Criminal & Healthcare Fraud Defense AttorneyType: Part-time Contract / Flexible HoursLocation: Remote, must be barred in FloridaRate: $85–$125 per hour (depending on experience and case complexity)Benefits: This position does not currently include benefits.Key Responsibilities Handle federal court litigation in Florida involving complex healthcare fraud, FCA violations, and white-collar crimesDraft motions, legal briefs, responses to CIDs, and trial documentsConduct high-level legal research and strategic analysis of federal investigationsProvide legal counsel to clients facing indictments or civil fraud allegationsAttend federal court hearings, trial, and pre-trial proceedings as necessaryCollaborate with managing attorneys and legal team on case planning and executionRequired Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law schoolActive Florida State Bar license in good standingMinimum 6 years of federal litigation experience with emphasis on criminal or False Claims Act defenseDemonstrated experience handling:Healthcare fraud investigationsMedicare and Medicaid fraud defenseQui tam lawsuits & whistleblower defenseGovernment contract fraud (preferred, not required)Strong legal writing, courtroom presence, and strategic litigation skillsFamiliarity with Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, local rules in Florida federal courtsPreferred Background Former federal prosecutor, AUSA, DOJ trial attorney, or military JAGExperience with OIG subpoenas, HHS investigations, or administrative healthcare proceedingsAbility to work independently with minimal oversightHow to Apply Please submit your resume along with a cover letter explaining your litigation experience, past government roles (if applicable), and the specific types of healthcare fraud or FCA cases you've handled.Serious inquiries only.
