Regional Controller

Vaco has partnered with an exciting, private equity-backed organization to hire a Regional Controller in Phoenix, Arizona! $130,000-$145,000 base salary + bonus (depending on experience) Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Perks and Opportunities: Significant advancement opportunities within a rapidly evolving company Opportunity to partner closely with executive leadership and operations teams Lead a regional accounting function with direct management responsibilities Responsibilities: Lead key accounting and financial reporting activities for the region, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business performance initiatives while providing actionable financial insights. Collaborate with project and operational teams to monitor project performance, revenue recognition, profitability, and overall financial health. Oversee audit support, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and accounting processes to maintain accuracy and reduce risk. Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and scalable accounting practices that support continued organizational growth. Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, project management, and other business partners while supporting special projects and strategic initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required) 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably within construction, project-based, multi-entity, or similar operational environments. Strong understanding of project accounting concepts, including revenue recognition, job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and percentage-of-completion accounting. Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems; Sage Intacct or similar platforms (Preferred) Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively partner across accounting, finance, and operations teams.
