Facilities Technician

Schneider is seeking a Facilities Technician in Gary, IN to manage the day-to-day maintenance needs of Schneider's buildings and grounds. The Facilities Technician will complete repairs, coordinate with maintenance vendors and handle other facilities-related projects. Responsibilities include acting as the facility contact for a Schneider location, executing preventative maintenance, responding to facility work requests in a timely manner, handling all yard maintenance including snow removal, taking care of cleaning-related tasks, coordinating and monitoring all contractor activities taking place around the building, soliciting quotes from vendors regarding high-cost repairs, and being on call during off hours to assist with facilities-related work when needed.

Skills and qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2-4 years of related experience, excellent facilities maintenance skills, experience working with vendors and contractors, familiarity with building mechanical systems and construction best practices, a valid driver's license that meets Schneider's DMV record standards, and the ability to plan and organize activities effectively.
