Commercial Litigation Associate (4-6 yrs.)

Practice Area: Commercial Litigation Experience: 4–6 Years (Targeting 2019–2022 JDs) Schedule: 4/1 hybrid About the Opportunity Our client, a nationally recognized Am Law 200 law firm, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing Kansas City office. This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-level litigation attorney to work alongside experienced trial lawyers while taking on significant responsibility for sophisticated commercial disputes. The ideal candidate will have experience managing commercial litigation matters through all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, trials, and appeals. Responsibilities Manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution. Conduct written and electronic discovery. Prepare for and take depositions. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents. Participate in hearings, trials, and appellate matters. Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners. Maintain direct client contact and provide strategic legal counsel. Manage multiple active matters while maintaining a high standard of client service. Supervise and delegate work to junior attorneys and litigation support staff, as appropriate. Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives. Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in Missouri and in good standing. Approximately 4–6 years of commercial litigation experience in a law firm environment. Strong experience with: Commercial and business disputes Discovery (traditional and electronic) Depositions Motion practice Hearings and trial preparation Appeals Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters while working collaboratively within a team. Base salary ranging from $185,000 to $225,000 , commensurate with experience.
