About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Float/Med Surg/Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - Minimum of 24 months of experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Tele or Med Surg/Telemetry is required. - Experience and comfort with drips including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltizem, and digoxin are required. - Must be able to confidently read EKG/ECG including rhythm strips and dysrhythmia reads. - EPIC EMR experience is required. License: - Active Iowa or compact multistate nursing license is required. Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. - Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. - NIH Stroke Scale certification is nice to have. - De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding. Must-Have: - Ability to float across various units based on staffing needs. - Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a passing score of 80% during onboarding. Description: This position involves floating to various units as needed based on staffing and census. Primary care will be in Med Surg, with requirements to assist in other areas as needed. Candidates will be required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Candidates may be first-time travelers with at least two years of nursing experience prioritized in hospital or medical center settings. A professional reference or performance evaluation from within the last 24 months is preferred.
