Staff Attorney

Maynard Nexsen is a full-service law firm with more than 600 attorneys in 32 locations across the United States. The firm’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation ("EBEC") Practice Group is the largest and most experienced benefits practice in Alabama and one of the largest in the Southeast. Its attorneys advise clients exclusively on benefits, executive compensation, and related matters, including the design, implementation, administration, and legal compliance of employer-sponsored retirement and health and welfare plans; executive and equity compensation arrangements; and the negotiation of benefits, compensation, equity, and incentives in corporate transactions. The group serves clients across virtually every industry, from start-ups to multinational public companies. Opportunity Overview Team environment: Join a growing practice group known for its supportive, collaborative approach. Experience: Bring at least two years of relevant legal experience. Location flexibility: Preference to work in-person from any Maynard Nexsen office, with remote arrangements possibly considered in locations where the firm has an office. This non-partnership-track position requires a regular schedule of approximately 20–35 hours per week and offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience and aligned with AmLaw 200 market rates. Candidates should have prior experience or demonstrated interest in benefits and executive compensation, general corporate, and/or tax law. An LL.M. in taxation is preferred but not required.
