• Role: Locum tenens Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery
• Location: Atlanta, GA 30328
• Setting: On-site operating room and surgical services support
• Start Date: August 5, 2026
• End Date: December 31, 2026
• Duration: Approximately 21 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,270-$3,880 per week
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM, with possible rotating weekends
• Shifts Per Week: 5 daytime shifts, with possible rotating weekends
• Shift Duration: Approximately 9 hours (7:30 AM-4:30 PM)
• Extended Hours/Call: Some case days may run into the early evening; no call expected
• Patient Volume: Approximately 10 patient encounters per shift
• Case Volume: Approximately 90-110 scheduled non-urgent cases per week
• Scope: OR-only surgical support; no outpatient clinic responsibilities
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in general surgery, surgical assisting, or a related operating room setting
• Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
• Board certification or board-eligible status required
• Current BLS certification required
• Comfort working in a fast-paced operating room (OR) environment with multiple surgical specialties
• Experience across orthopedics, OB/GYN, urology, or ENT is a plus
• Flexibility for rotating weekends and occasional extended hours
• Strong communication, teamwork, and procedural support skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operating room on scheduled surgical cases, with general surgery as the top priority
• Support additional OR case types including orthopedics, OB/GYN, urology, and ENT as needed
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, scrub techs, circulating RNs, and CRNAs to maintain efficient case flow
• Provide dependable OR support during the weekday schedule, with occasional evenings and rotating weekends as needed
• Focus exclusively on OR-based responsibilities; no outpatient clinic duties
• Contribute to safe, efficient, team-oriented care throughout each surgical day
