Upscale Casual Restaurant
$70,000 - $75,000
Metro Detroit
- Baking and Production: Prepare cakes, cookies, pies, bread, and plated desserts using traditional and modern recipes.
- Menu Development: Create new and exciting seasonal dessert recipes to engage customers.
- Decoration: Decorate pastries and desserts with icings and toppings for high visual appeal.
- Inventory Management: Monitor baking supplies, track inventory, and order ingredients within budget.
- Kitchen Safety: Maintain a clean work station and follow health and safety regulations.
- Team Support: Guide and train junior bakers and kitchen assistants.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary arts degree or certificate in baking and pastry.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pastry chef or baker.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and sanitation rules.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy items when needed.
