Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) RN provides expert perioperative nursing care for surgical patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role ensures patient safety, supports surgical teams, and adheres to established protocols and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Administer preoperative and postoperative patient assessments and care.
• Collaborate with surgical technologists and other team members to ensure smooth procedure flow.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond swiftly to any intraoperative changes.
• Maintain sterile environment and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in charting systems.
• Assist in emergency situations and support patient stabilization as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of application.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of current, recent OR RN experience.
• Be certified in BLS and ACLS by the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Meditech charting system.
• Have previous travel nursing experience.
• Be capable of working day shifts and handling on-call responsibilities as required.
