Wolverine Lawn Services is looking for an experienced Irrigation Service Technician to join our team. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working outdoors, and taking ownership of their work.

You’ll be responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation systems while working directly with customers and other members of the Wolverine team.

What You’ll Do

• Install and service residential and commercial irrigation systems.

• Install piping, sprinkler heads, valves, backflow preventers, controllers, sensors, and related components.

• Diagnose and repair leaks, broken lines, faulty valves, electrical issues, and malfunctioning sprinkler heads.

• Program, adjust, and troubleshoot irrigation controllers and smart irrigation systems.

• Perform seasonal system startups and winterizations.

• Inspect systems for proper coverage, pressure, and overall performance.

• Adjust irrigation schedules based on weather conditions, site needs, and plant material.

• Recommend repairs or upgrades that improve system performance and water efficiency.

• Read and interpret irrigation plans, diagrams, manuals, and specifications.

• Maintain accurate daily records of labor, materials, and completed work.

• Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and in good working condition.

• Follow company safety procedures when working with tools, electrical components, excavation equipment, and underground utilities.

• Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.

• Assist with snow and winter operations as needed.

Schedule

• Full-time position based out of our Kalamazoo location.
• Typical weekday schedule with hours between 7 am and 5 pm.
• Additional hours may be required during peak irrigation periods, spring startups, fall winterizations, weather delays, and snow season

What We’re Looking For

• Previous irrigation installation, service, or repair experience.

• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical irrigation problems.

• Experience with irrigation controllers such as Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, or similar systems.

• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to read plans, diagrams, manuals, and system layouts.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical work including digging, bending, kneeling, and using hand tools.

• Dependable, professional, and attentive to detail.

Compensation

$21–$28 per hour, based on experience

Pay will depend on irrigation experience, troubleshooting ability, and overall skill level.
