Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager - Cumming, GA - HVAC Company Who: A stable, privately held and growing organization seeking a dependable accounting professional to support financial operations and leadership reporting. What: Seeking a hands-on Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting functions, maintain financial accuracy, and support leadership with financial insights. When: Immediate need due to continued company growth and increasing financial management requirements. Where: Cumming, GA (Onsite). Why: The company is expanding and requires stronger financial oversight, improved reporting processes, and operational accounting leadership. Office Environment: Collaborative, fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial leadership team focused on operational excellence. Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 depending on experience. Position Overview The Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions including financial reporting, reconciliations, internal controls, and day-to-day bookkeeping operations while supporting leadership with financial visibility and process improvements. Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, payroll review, and bank reconciliations
- Oversee monthly close and prepare accurate financial statements
- Maintain and improve reporting structures and chart of accounts
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Handle job costing and ensure accurate project or departmental financial tracking
- Manage intercompany transactions across simple legal entities
- Coordinate with external partners on tax filings, audits, and compliance matters
- Strengthen internal financial procedures and ensure GAAP compliance
- Provide financial insights to leadership for operational and vendor decisions
- Support process improvement initiatives and accounting system optimization
- 5-10+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience with increasing responsibility
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting fundamentals
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting processes including close and reconciliations
- ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills preferred
- Background in construction, distribution, manufacturing, or service industries is a plus
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in daily accounting operations
