Location Avera McKennan Hospital Position Type Regular Work, Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (United States of America) Pay Range $32.50 - $48.50 per hour, depending on experience Position Highlights Varied shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks, including rotating days, evenings, nights and weekends Possible sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 Multidisciplinary team dedicated to moving health forward for patients Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Provides patient care information and guidance throughout the hospitalization process. Responsibilities Review physician prescriptions and communicate the nursing care plan to the health care team Coordinate with other health care providers and confer with physicians Develop nursing care plans based on medical histories, examinations, documentation and family input Teach patients and families about conditions, medications and self‑care skills Evaluate patient care against therapeutic standards, measure outcomes, and modify plans as needed Maintain safe, secure and healthy environment by following infection‑control, medication and controlled‑substance policies Document patient care services in charts and department records Maintain operating equipment, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance and order supplies as needed Maintain competence in nursing skills as directed by leadership Essential Qualifications Must be able to work the specified hours and have adequate visual acuity. Must communicate effectively with others.
