The ideal candidate must have an acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with fixed deadlines.Responsibilities:Project Evaluation: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work, materials required, and labor needs.Cost Estimation: Utilize industry-standard estimating techniques and software to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals based on thorough cost analysis, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.Supplier and Subcontractor RelationsCollaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services, negotiate contracts, and establish strong working relationships.Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering solutions without compromising quality or safety standards.Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and uncertainties associated with construction projects and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project cost forecasting and seamless project execution.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and market pricing to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.Cost Tracking and Reporting: Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, track changes, and provide regular reports to management and project teams.Professional Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of successfully bidding and winning projects in the general contracting industry.New York City experience is preferred.Key Skills & Knowledge:Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam), as well as Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.Knowledge: Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
