Development Director

We're Hiring: Development Director | $133,845/salary + Amazing Benefits! Location: 1307 S. 900 W. SLC, UT | Type: Full-Time | FLSA: Exempt Utah Community Action is looking for an energetic, relationship-focused Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts that power life-changing programs and strengthen communities across the State. What You'll Do As our Director of Development, you will lead and grow a dynamic fundraising strategy that supports the organization's mission and long-term sustainability. You will work closely with agency leadership, community partners, donors, and the Development Team to expand resources and elevate our impact. Key Responsibilities Include Develop annual and multi-year fundraising plans Lead donor engagement, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and stewardship efforts Create strategic campaigns with measurable goals and timelines Oversee grant prospecting, writing, reporting, and compliance Support agency-wide strategic planning and community needs assessments Represent the agency at meetings, presentations, and special events Collaborate with leadership to strengthen program growth and sustainability Coach and support the Development Team Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Nonprofit fundraising experience 3+ years of supervisory experience Grant development experience Public speaking and event planning experience Preferred Qualifications Master's degree Experience leading strategic planning initiatives What Makes You Successful Professional communication and strong relationship-building skills Accountability, flexibility, and attention to deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality and adapt to changing priorities Commitment to teamwork and community impact Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass required background and health screenings Compliance with agency personnel policies and Head Start requirements This position supervises the Development Team and includes occasional travel within the community.
