Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Commercial Electrician role located in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The Commercial Electrician will install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial buildings, including wiring, lighting, panels, and associated equipment. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics, performing electrical troubleshooting, testing systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes, and completing routine maintenance and repairs. The role involves working safely with power tools and electrical testing equipment, collaborating with site supervisors and other trades, and documenting work performed and materials used. The Commercial Electrician is expected to follow all company safety procedures, meet project timelines, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical principles applicable to commercial environments. Candidates should possess practical skills in electrical work, including installation, wiring, and panel setup in commercial facilities. Candidates should possess abilities in maintenance & repair of electrical systems, ensuring reliable operation and minimizing downtime. Candidates should possess troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical issues, use appropriate testing tools, and implement effective solutions. Candidates should possess familiarity with basic electrical engineering concepts relevant to system layout, load calculations, and code compliance. Valid electrician license or journeyperson status in Florida (or ability to obtain), along with knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards. Ability to work on ladders and lifts, lift moderate weights, and perform tasks in various construction site conditions. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
