Wage & Hour Litigation Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking a Wage & Hour Litigation Attorney to join a leading employment law firm. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of litigation experience and substantial experience handling complex wage and hour disputes, including class and collective actions, in Oregon state and federal courts.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to work on sophisticated matters involving employers throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
Location: Portland, OR
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant litigation experience.
Substantial experience handling wage and hour litigation.
Experience with Oregon wage and hour laws enforced by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI).
Experience with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Experience managing complex matters from inception through resolution.
Strong understanding of wage and hour issues, including exemption classifications, regular rate and overtime calculations, meal and rest period practices, payroll and wage statement issues, and final pay claims.
Experience with wage and hour class and collective actions.
Oregon Bar admission required.
JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
Excellent academic credentials.
Exceptional legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage wage and hour litigation matters from inception through resolution.
Represent employers in complex class and collective actions and other employment-related disputes.
Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and other substantive legal documents.
Manage written discovery and complex discovery issues.
Take and defend depositions.
Prepare for and argue key motions, including class certification and decertification motions.
Develop litigation strategy for complex wage and hour disputes.
Analyze and advise on Oregon and federal wage and hour requirements.
Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop effective litigation strategies and achieve favorable outcomes.
