To know more about us, visit: Job Overview: As a Data Science Manager at Tredence, you will lead and mentor a team of data scientists focused on advancing retail analytics through classical machine learning and generative AI technologies. Success in this role means driving business outcomes by successfully operationalizing AI-driven insights and fostering collaboration across technical and business teams. You will play a key role in shaping AI strategies that deliver measurable impact for our clients and contribute to Tredence’s reputation as a leader in applied analytics. This position is integral to bridging data science innovation with real-world retail applications. What will your role look like? - Lead and manage a team of data scientists in developing and deploying machine learning and generative AI solutions tailored to retail business challenges. - Design and implement classical ML and causal inference frameworks to improve forecasting, customer insights, and merchandising strategies. - Oversee data pre-processing, exploratory data analysis, modeling, and evaluation workflows to ensure the highest quality outputs. - Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate data science deliverables into actionable insights and business impact. - Drive the integration and fine-tuning of transformer-based models, including prompt engineering and pre-training, to enhance natural language processing capabilities. - Utilize technologies such as Python, PySpark, and SQL to build scalable and efficient analytical solutions. - Mentor and develop team members to further their technical and professional growth within the company. - Stay current with emerging developments in the field, incorporating best practices and advanced techniques into projects. You will need: - Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering. - Possess 7-12 years of professional experience in data science or analytics, with demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams. - Demonstrate strong expertise in classical machine learning techniques, supervised and unsupervised learning, and ensemble modeling. - Have practical knowledge of generative AI concepts including model fine-tuning, pre-training, transformer architectures, and prompt engineering. - Be proficient in programming languages and tools such as Python, PySpark, and SQL. - Understand foundational concepts in deep learning, natural language processing, causal inference, and data exploration. - Exhibit experience in evaluation frameworks and forecasting algorithms relevant to retail analytics. - Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Good to Have Skills: - Experience working with LangChain or similar modern AI toolkits to build advanced language model applications. - Exposure to cloud platforms and deployment pipelines for large-scale machine learning models. - Familiarity with metrics-driven approaches to track model performance and business KPIs. - Advanced degrees or certifications in AI, Data Science, or related fields. - Prior experience leading data science initiatives specifically within the retail industry.
