Unit: School Of Business MBU Department: Deans Office Administration Duties & Responsibilities: The VCU School of Business is seeking talented and enthusiasticapplicants for a Business Manager position. This position will jointhe Finance and Administration (F&A) team and play a criticalrole in supporting the Graduate Studies team and the Dean’sOffice. Duties & Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance & ResearchAdministration, this position will: Support tuition revenue management of multiple graduateprograms and create revenue projections in support of futureplanning. Manage purchasing for departmental needs through a variety ofmodalities, including sourcing and executing vendor contractsspanning multiple programs Provide fiscal services for faculty, staff, and studentsincluding purchasing, travel/reimbursements, and support leadershipwith budget planning Complete monthly banner reconciliations for all areas in theunit Perform timekeeper duties for student and hourly employees, aswell as federal work study arrangements, if any Support the hiring of adjuncts, student workers, and hourlyemployees through partnership with HR to facilitate the hiring orcontracting process; coordinate with the School of Business HR teamto ensure accurate and timely processing of faculty and contractorpayments. As a financial transaction expert, collaborate with the financeand administration team to serve as a resource and support toothers in the school with fiscal responsibility. This includescreating and maintaining training materials unique to the School ofBusiness, providing engaging one-on-one or small group training,and managing the process of sharing technical updates. Support the Executive Director of Finance with analysis,including but not limited to available and projected fund balances,restricted funds, and multiple fund source analysis. Function as an enthusiastic, positive member of the F&Ateam, with a strong focus on customer service and meeting the needsof stakeholders in order to develop strong working relationshipswith units internal and external to the School of Business. Engage in the ARMICS (internal control) process as part of theF&A team. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Experience in an accounting or financial services role withstrong customer service skills Ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret financial data anddraw sound conclusions Experience with Microsoft Excel Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety ofpeople in different roles and at varying levels of theorganization. Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of projects and towork independently. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and theability to communicate effectively at a variety of levels. Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a staff member at VCU Ability to work successfully as part of a team and a desire togrow and learn within the role. Preferred Qualifications Higher education industry experience Significant experience with Microsoft Excel More than two years experience in an accounting or financialservices role with experience in AP, financial reimbursements, orbudget management. Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline or commensurateexperience Schedule: Monday-Friday with an opportunity for partial remote work after anintroductory period.
