Entry Phlebotomist I (Lobby Greeter & Patient Services Representative)

Location: Pembroke Pines, FL Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 1:30 PM | Every Saturday, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and customer-focused Entry Phlebotomist I to join our team in Pembroke Pines, FL. This role combines patient service and phlebotomy responsibilities, serving as the first point of contact for patients while helping maintain a welcoming and professional environment.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist patients with the check-in process, support lobby operations, and step into draw rooms when needed to perform phlebotomy duties. Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Assist patients with check-in procedures using self-service kiosks and handheld tablets.
• Provide clear explanations and guidance regarding scheduled laboratory procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized waiting area.
• Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism when interacting with patients.
• Support front lobby operations and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Fill in for Phlebotomists in draw rooms as needed.
• Accurately maintain required records and documentation.
• Protect patient confidentiality and ensure data accuracy.
• Perform assigned duties under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Promote a positive image of the organization with patients, clients, staff, and the community.
• Maintain punctuality, dependability, and adherence to scheduling requirements.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and support team operations.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required (no exceptions).
• Phlebotomy Certificate and/or prior Phlebotomy experience required.

Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of customer-facing experience required (retail, hospitality, healthcare, home health aide, or similar environments).
• Previous phlebotomy experience required.
• Strong keyboard and data-entry skills.
• Experience working directly with patients or customers preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Reliable transportation is required. Public transportation, rideshare services, or Uber/Lyft are not considered reliable transportation for this role.
• Candidates must be able to consistently arrive on time and work their full scheduled shifts.
• Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will not be tolerated.
• Candidates should reside within approximately 20–25 minutes of the work location.

This is not a front desk-only position. Candidates must be willing and able to perform both patient service/lobby greeter duties and phlebotomy responsibilities within draw rooms as needed. Applicants interested solely in receptionist, greeter, or front desk roles should not apply.
