Winsupply of Elmsford is looking for an experienced Plumbing & HVAC Counter Sales Specialist who knows the supply-house business and understands what contractors need.

If you’ve worked behind the counter at a plumbing, HVAC, heating, hydronics, or mechanical supply house, you already know this job isn’t just about entering orders.

It’s about being able to help a contractor who walks in with an old valve, fitting, pump, control, or part and says, “I need another one of these.”

We’re Looking for Experience

We’re specifically interested in candidates who already have experience with plumbing, HVAC, heating, hydronics, or wholesale distribution.

You might currently be:

·         Working the counter at another plumbing or HVAC supply house

·         Working in inside sales for a wholesaler or distributor

·         A plumbing or HVAC technician looking to transition into sales

·         Working in a warehouse or sales position with strong product knowledge

·         An experienced supply-house employee ready for a new opportunity

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be one of the people our customers rely on every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

·         Helping plumbing, HVAC, heating, and mechanical contractors at the sales counter

·         Answering customer calls and processing phone orders

·         Identifying plumbing and HVAC parts and materials

·         Looking up products, pricing, and availability

·         Entering and processing customer orders accurately

·         Preparing quotes

·         Helping customers find replacement parts

·         Recommending alternative products when necessary

·         Checking inventory and locating materials

·         Coordinating special orders, transfers, and backorders

·         Following up with customers on open orders

·         Assisting with returns and warranty questions

·         Recommending additional products customers may need for the job

·         Working closely with our warehouse, purchasing, outside sales, and management teams

·         Building long-term relationships with contractors

·         Keeping the counter and customer areas organized and professional

Most importantly, you’ll be expected to provide the type of service that keeps customers coming back.

Plumbing

·         Copper, PEX, PVC and CPVC

·         Pipe, valves and fittings

·         Faucets and repair parts

·         Toilets and fixtures

·         Commercial and residential plumbing supplies

Heating & Hydronics

·         Boilers

·         Circulators

·         Zone valves

·         Expansion tanks

·         Controls

·         Baseboard

·         Radiators

·         Hydronic components

·         Boiler trim and accessories

HVAC

·         Heating and air-conditioning equipment

·         HVAC service and replacement parts

·         Thermostats and controls

·         Venting products

·         Condensate products

·         Installation accessories

·         Common HVAC service materials and supplies

Nobody knows every SKU in a supply house.

What matters is that you understand the industry, know contractor terminology, can identify common products, know the right questions to ask, and can figure things out when something unfamiliar comes across the counter.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

·         Plumbing, HVAC, heating, mechanical, or related industry knowledge

·         Previous counter sales, inside sales, wholesale, contractor, or supply-house experience

·         Strong customer service skills

·         Ability to communicate confidently with contractors

·         Ability to identify common plumbing and HVAC products

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Basic computer and order-entry skills

·         Basic math skills

·         Dependable attendance

·         Strong work ethic

·         Ability to multitask in a busy counter environment

·         Willingness to learn

·         Team-first attitude

Preferred:

·         2+ years of plumbing/HVAC wholesale experience

·         Previous plumbing or HVAC supply-house experience

·         Counter sales or inside sales experience

·         Strong hydronics knowledge

·         Familiarity with major plumbing and HVAC manufacturers

·         Experience quoting contractor jobs

·         Experience with wholesale inventory/order-management systems

·         Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Compensation

Candidates with strong plumbing, HVAC, hydronics, counter sales, or supply-house experience may qualify toward the top of the range.
