Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level III Trauma Center experience and TNCC certification.

Details

• Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center emergency department treating more than 60,000 patients annually across all age groups
• Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
• Mid shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS, and NIH or Red Cross equivalent
• TNCC certification required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• 2 years of experience required, with consideration given for 18 months of experience under the highest level of professional license within the specialty
• NURSYS license verification required
• No license history issues (past or current) allowed

Additional Information

• Work alongside a multidisciplinary ED team including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff
• Required to complete an on-site test in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting
• Virtual orientation includes competency-based training modules
• Dress code requires solid navy scrubs
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no mileage restrictions
