Summary The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader position primarily fulfills our mission: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The LIT and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display, pulls, register procedures and routine cleaning). The role works directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $18–$22 per hour. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related factors. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus 3 % commission on sales. The range listed is the estimated base rate plus commission for Teammates in this position. Sales Generation and Guest Service Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and consistently provide legendary service. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires. Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience. Demonstrate product utilizing product knowledge and sales education, consistently sharing that knowledge and education with Team. Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices. Remain consistent on personal sales, and look for opportunities to impact teammates’ presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG). Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management. Provide legendary service throughout the store in these top four areas: Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area. Be knowledgeable of all exchange and return procedures for Guests and turn these into a showmanship opportunity. Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals. Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs. Investigate and navigate how to expand Guest selection through inventory management, advanced product search, iPad apps, etc. Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client‑based business. Lead by example with high showmanship, excellent customer service, and attentiveness. Recognize and communicate Guest Levels with the Team. Ask business‑driven and showmanship questions to Manager, Team Leaders, and teammates. Coachable—allow Manager to educate them in their sales presentation. Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the Manager is present. Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development Consistently recognize recruiting opportunities by utilizing Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals and Teammate Recommend. Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating and educating new teammates to meet Buckle’s accountability, shift orientation, Loss Prevention and sales presentation standards daily. Maintain a positive attitude at all times, creating a positive floor culture. Demonstrate personal dress code to encourage and coach the latest fashion in teammates and Team Leaders. Participate effectively in daily setup, training, impact and review while using the Performance Tracker. Motivate teammates to initiate and complete daily tasks. Passionate about coaching the denim showmanship and denim fit cards. Create and develop results in your department, balancing all DM actions and completing the mid‑week check‑in. Demonstrate leadership actions during segment: awareness of guests, involvement with product, continuous communication, gathering Guest names, working creatively, etc. Visual Merchandise Management Own and influence product through zone ownership: product knowledge, placement, passion, preference. Weekly checklist. Life cycle of product. Track results. Recognize and assign Zones and projects to teammates with learning goals. Confirm teammates follow Visual Standards, Visual library and Weekly Visual Checklist with urgency and accountability. Execute and demonstrate new tools and videos that apply to zone ownership. Recognize merchandising opportunities and communicate recommendations to Store Manager. Give informational store tours. Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight displayed properly. Operations Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Utilize planner, opening and closing checklists. Watch for security risks and theft, and know how to prevent or handle situations. Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines. Execute and teach all POS procedures. Handle calls from Corporate Office appropriately. Know Buckle guidelines for returns and exchanges. Maintain positive attitude with challenging guests or teammates. Implement payment, exchange, and Loss Prevention policies. Navigate and use all tools on the home page. Guide and give feedback to non‑sales positions. Complete all scheduled shifts and cover when needed. Provide feedback to Store Manager and Leadership Team about merchandise concerns. Communicate any policy violations and teammate or guest concerns promptly. Maintain clean, organized, shoppable store. Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies. Supervisory and Leadership Comfortable giving and receiving feedback from peers and management. Supportive of leadership. Promote personal and store growth. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
