Assistant Kitchen Manager

We are seeking an energetic, fast paced and motivated Restaurant Shift Leader to join our quick service deli team! In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily restaurant operations during your shift, ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth food production, and efficient team management. As a key leader on the floor, you will coordinate staff activities, uphold food safety standards, and maintain a lively, welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. Your leadership will drive operational excellence and foster a positive environment for both team members and customers alike. Responsibilities

• Supervise restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all team members deliver outstanding customer service and adhere to company standards.
• Lead staff training and development initiatives, including onboarding new team members and providing ongoing coaching to enhance performance.
• Manage food preparation and kitchen activities, ensuring quality control, proper food handling, and compliance with food safety regulations.
• Oversee POS (Point of Sale) Square POS for accurate order processing, cash handling, and transaction reconciliation.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and control food costs through effective inventory management practices.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests.
• Conduct shift reports, manage cash flow, and analyze profit and loss data to optimize restaurant profitability.

Requirements

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety management.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience in hospitality or restaurant settings.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; cash handling experience is essential.
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures and basic math skills for accurate reporting and cost analysis.
• Experience in managing hospitality teams with a focus on team training, staff development, and effective communication.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of service.
• Strong understanding of food industry regulations including food safety protocols and kitchen management practices.

Schedule Days: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Shifts: Early AM, Day Weekends required, we close most days at 4 pm, Friday & Saturday at 6 pm. No night work.
