DME Living Well is a durable medical equipment supplier serving patients across Connecticut. We deliver hospital beds, mobility equipment, incontinence supplies, breast pumps, and other home medical equipment directly to patients' homes, group homes, and care facilities. Our team works with people at vulnerable moments — recent hospital discharges, new parents, families caring for a loved one at home — and how we show up matters as much as what we deliver.

Position Summary

We're hiring a full-time Warehouse Associate who is also comfortable behind the wheel. Most of your week is spent in our Middletown warehouse: receiving shipments, picking and staging orders, sanitizing returned equipment, and loading the vans for the next day's routes. When we're short a driver or a route runs heavy, you'll take a vehicle out and run deliveries yourself.

This is a good fit for someone who likes physical work, takes pride in getting details right, and can talk to a patient at their front door with patience and respect.

What You'll Do

Warehouse (primary)

• Receive incoming shipments, verify against packing slips, and report shortages or damage
• Help load and unload delivery vans and box trucks safely
• Clean, sanitize, and inspect returned equipment; tag items needing repair
• Assist with basic equipment assembly, testing, and repair prep
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts
• Keep the warehouse, loading dock, and equipment areas clean, and organized
• Track equipment serial numbers and update records in our system

Delivery (as needed)

• Run assigned delivery and pickup routes, typically leaving the warehouse around 9:30 AM and returning by 3:30 PM
• Deliver and set up equipment in patients' homes, group homes, and care facilities
• Demonstrate safe basic operation of equipment to patients and caregivers
• Collect signatures, complete delivery tickets and paperwork accurately, and return documentation same day
• Pick up equipment being returned and transport it back to the warehouse
• Communicate with dispatch about delays, access issues, or refused deliveries
• Follow HIPAA requirements and protect patient privacy at every stop

What We're Looking For

Required

• Valid Connecticut driver's license with a clean driving record (checked annually)
• Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly and maneuver equipment up to 100+ lbs with assistance or equipment
• Comfortable navigating unfamiliar addresses, stairs, tight hallways, and residential settings
• Reliable and punctual — routes and hospital discharges depend on it
• Professional, patient, and respectful manner with patients, families, and facility staff
• Basic comfort with smartphones, tablets, and scanners
• Able to pass a background check, drug screening, and DMV record check

Preferred

• Prior experience in durable medical equipment, home health, warehouse, or delivery work
• Experience delivering or setting up hospital beds, wheelchairs, or mobility equipment
• Pallet jack or forklift experience
• Conversational Spanish

No CDL required — our vehicles are standard vans and box trucks under 26,000 lbs GVWR.

Physical Requirements

This role is physically demanding. You should expect to be on your feet for most of the shift, and to regularly lift, push, pull, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and load equipment in all weather conditions.
