The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by ensuring efficient and compassionate patient care within clinical settings. This position involves performing clinical and administrative tasks that facilitate smooth operations and enhance patient experiences. The Medical Assistant is responsible for accurately recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with procedures such as venipuncture and phlebotomy. Additionally, the role requires managing electronic health records and coordinating communication through multi-line phone systems and fax machines. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes to delivering high-quality healthcare by combining technical skills with critical thinking and patient-centered service.

Measure and record patients' vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.

Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures safely and efficiently to collect blood samples for laboratory testing.

Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring patient comfort.

Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) with patient information, test results, and clinical notes in compliance with privacy regulations.

Manage front office communications by operating multi-line phone systems and fax machines to schedule appointments, handle inquiries, and coordinate referrals.

Apply critical thinking skills to identify patient needs, prioritize tasks, and respond appropriately to clinical situations.

Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control protocols and equipment sterilization standards.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.

MA Certificate or Registered MA strongly preferred.

Proficiency in measuring and recording vital signs accurately.

Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
