Director, PEPI - Tech Services M&A

Director, Tech Services M&A – Role Description We are seeking an individual who can lead and deliver large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for private equity clients and their portfolio companies. A&M Directors frequently lead the following types of engagements: pre‑acquisition IT diligence, interim IT management, Day‑1 and 100‑day planning and execution, and the implementation of quality deliverables while managing teams and ensuring exceptional performance. Team A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) practice, with offices throughout the United States, focuses on serving upper‑middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms that engage A&M to improve operating results at their portfolio companies. The companies we serve range from $50 million to over $1 billion. Our PEPI services include: Merger Integration & Carve‑outs IT – pre‑acquisition diligence IT – post‑acquisition implementations and integration Interim Management Commercial Due Diligence/Strategy Rapid Results Supply Chain CFO Services Responsibilities Lead pre‑acquisition IT diligence assignments focusing on business systems, IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, software development lifecycle, budgetary analysis, and organizational/personnel assessment. Provide interim IT management. Plan and execute Day‑1 and 100‑day initiatives to drive performance improvement in ERP, back‑office operations, supply chain, business‑intelligence, customer and channel management, and track progress against objectives. Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables while managing the team and day‑to‑day client relationships. Develop people through coaching, staffing input, recruitment participation, and support for delivery teams in local offices. Qualifications 10+ years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with a minimum of five years specializing in systems implementations, merger integration, business transformation, and change management. Extensive experience working for or with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or related transaction/merger integration activities. Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following areas: Private Equity Advisory IT merger integration and carve‑out Business/IT transformation program/project management (e.g., ERP) Collaboration and change leadership to improve key functions such as supply chain and finance/accounting IT operations Solution architecture Enterprise architecture and infrastructure IT assessment and strategy development IT performance improvement and cost reduction Demonstrated track record working with C‑suite executives and private equity deal and operating partners. Excellent fact‑gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis. Previous strategy and change‑management experience from a top‑tier strategy firm, leading specialist firm, niche advisory firm, or Big‑4 consultancy. Bachelor’s degree required.
