Event Cook

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Event Cook to join our team on a part-time, as-needed basis. This position is ideal for someone with extensive catering or event experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can efficiently prepare large volumes of food while maintaining exceptional quality and organization.

The Event Cook will primarily work during event preparation periods and on event days, with schedules varying based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare food for catered events according to established recipes, production schedules, and quality standards.
• Execute large-scale food production efficiently while maintaining consistency and presentation.
• Organize prep lists and prioritize tasks to meet strict event deadlines.
• Ensure all ingredients and supplies are properly labeled, stored, and rotated.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
• Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure seamless event execution.
• Assist with packing, organizing, and loading food for off-site events when needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Adapt quickly to changing event needs and last-minute adjustments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional catering or event cooking experience (preferred).
• Proven ability to prepare high-volume food efficiently without sacrificing quality.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Able to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
