Youth Services Coordinator (Children's Librarian)

Bloomfield Public Library & Cultural Center | Bloomfield, New Mexico

Part-time 19.5 hours per week

The Bloomfield Public Library & Cultural Center is seeking an enthusiastic Youth Services Coordinator to help create memorable experiences that foster literacy, learning, and community engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping shape the future of youth services in our community.

What You'll Do

As our Youth Services Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of programs and services that bring people together. You'll:

• Plan and lead engaging programs for children, teens, and families
• Coordinate Story Time, Summer Reading, STEM activities, literacy initiatives, and special events
• Build relationships with local schools, organizations, and community partners
• Create eye-catching marketing materials, social media content, displays, and seasonal décor
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patrons with library resources and technology
• Support Cultural Center operations, facility rentals, community events, and fitness memberships
• Help develop innovative programs that respond to community needs and interests
• Contribute to grant projects, collection development, reporting, and volunteer coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, Communications, Marketing, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (preferred but not required)
• Two years of experience in youth services, libraries, education, recreation, customer service, or community programming
• Experience with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Express
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
