Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center requiring TNCC and PALS certifications.

Details

• Emergency Department setting in a 54-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
• Treats more than 60,000 patients annually across all age groups
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
• Mid shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale or Red Cross equivalent certification required
• TNCC certification required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (18 months considered if working under highest level of professional license with 2 years in specialty)
• NURSYS verification required

Additional Information

• Work alongside a multidisciplinary ED team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses
• Solid navy scrubs required
• On-site skills test required in addition to online pre-test
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restrictions
• First-time travelers may be considered
