Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design EngineerWe're hiring an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and work on design, documentation, and continuous improvement of our equipment lines. This role has direct involvement across the full product lifecycle — from concept to shop floor to field. Engineering end to end includes creating new designs, maintaining, and correcting existing drawing packages, and reverse engineering legacy or customer-supplied equipment and parts when drawings don't exist or don't match what's in the field. You'll work closely with leadership, sales, production, purchasing, service teams, and customers directly.ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain detailed drawings, BOMs, and specifications for fabrication and assembly for both existing and new product designsDesign and develop new equipment components and assemblies using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)Support production by resolving design-related issues on the shop floorEvaluate and improve existing product designs for cost, durability, and manufacturabilityWork with vendors on component integrationConduct testing and validation of prototypes and new designsCollaborate with sales and customers to develop custom or retrofit solutionsMaintain design documentation and revision controlSupport new product development tied to market diversificationIdentify, initiate, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive results to the companies' goals and objectives.Skills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineeringProficiency with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)Understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and hydraulic/mechanical systemsExperience in agricultural, industrial, or heavy equipment manufacturing preferredStrong problem-solving skills and comfort working directly on the shop floorAbility to communicate effectively with production staff, vendors, and customersExcellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skillsAbout Newton Crouch Company, LLC Newton Crouch Co., LLC (NCC) has served the agricultural industry since 1940 as a spreading and spraying equipment innovator.
