OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST OUTPATIENT
UNMHSCHS
Join the occupational therapy team at UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital (CTH), New Mexico's only pediatric rehabilitation hospital, providing compassionate, coordinated care to children and teens for more than 70 years. As the only pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the state, CTH conducts more than 21 specialized clinics ranging in emphasis from brain and spinal cord injuries to developmental and neurological conditions to juvenile arthritis and clinical genetics. Our pediatric OTs work across both inpatient and outpatient settings - including a 16-bed inpatient unit treating children with congenital and acquired conditions affecting the musculoskeletal, neurological, and neuromuscular systems. This is a rare opportunity to practice at the only facility of its kind in New Mexico, serving as a statewide referral hub for complex pediatric rehabilitation. The Role As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at CTH, you'll teach strategies and recommend adaptive equipment to help children do everyday activities, working alongside PT, Speech, and Orthotics & Prosthetics colleagues as part of an integrated, family-centered care team. Specialty practice areas include durable medical equipment evaluations, neuro/neurodevelopmental, orthopedic rehab, feeding, assistive technology, and pediatric hand therapy/orthosis fit and fabrication. You'll draw on specialized hospital resources uncommon outside of dedicated pediatric rehab settings - including aquatic therapy in a heated pool, assistive technology lab, full kitchens and unique rehabilitation equipment. CTH's philosophy centers around the whole family: we value the role a child's family plays in a health care plan and respect the cultural and personal values of their loved ones, working collaboratively to create the best healing environment whether care happens at home or in the hospital. Receive 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights and 15% Weekend Day shift differentials Compensation Disclaimer Compensation for this role is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, and other business and organizational considerations.
